Tearfund is recruiting a Programme Funding Manager to support its regional programme portfolio in West Africa. The role works with regional and country leadership to strengthen funding opportunities, develop major donor proposals and build strategic donor partnerships.

About the Role

The Programme Funding Manager will work directly with the Regional Director, Country Directors and regional leadership. The position focuses on programme growth, institutional funding acquisition and technical proposal development across West Africa.

The role is available across Tearfund operating locations in Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Chad, Burkina Faso and Mali.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the development of technical proposals and coordinate regional bids.
  • Build and monitor donor partnership pipelines.
  • Develop strategic relationships with NGO partners and donors.
  • Support participatory programme design, including Theory of Change, logframes and results frameworks.
  • Train country teams on donor trends, regulations and funding strategies.
  • Participate in regional bid review and funding planning processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in International Development, Project Management, Social Sciences or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in both programme/project management and institutional fundraising within an INGO.
  • A strong record of developing and securing large-scale proposals for institutional donors such as USAID, FCDO, EU and UN agencies.
  • Full written and spoken fluency in English and French.
  • An established network within the West African donor and NGO community.
  • Experience facilitating Theory of Change and project design processes.

Contract and Requirements

The position is offered on a fixed-term contract. Salary is determined according to the country of employment.
