The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is recruiting a Finance Coordinator in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of finance activities in the area of operation.

About the Role

The Finance Coordinator will work under the supervision of a manager and help ensure effective financial management, reporting and compliance with NRC policies, procedures and donor requirements.

The role is based in Ituri, an area affected by a complex humanitarian and operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Implement NRC financial systems and procedures.
Prepare financial reports and analyses.
Supervise, manage and train the finance team.
Conduct monthly budget-versus-actual analysis.
Support budget preparation and financial planning.
Allocate common area and programme costs.
Manage and reconcile NRC bank accounts in Ituri.
Verify payroll and ensure taxes are paid on time.
Support audits and participate in procurement committees.
Maintain electronic financial records and support asset inventories.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

A university degree in accounting, management, economics or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, including finance coordination in a humanitarian context.
Experience working in complex or unstable environments.
Good knowledge of Excel and Word.
Knowledge of taxation and financial regulations in the DRC.
Understanding of the Congolese financial system.
Training experience.
Good knowledge of the humanitarian and operational context in eastern DRC, particularly Ituri.
Knowledge of English and local languages is an asset.
