About the Role

The Program Director will provide regional leadership for Habitat for Humanity’s Europe programs, focusing on housing impact, program quality, team leadership, partnerships and resource mobilization.

The role will help develop and implement the Europe Program Strategy and support programs addressing areas such as energy efficiency, social rental, adaptive reuse, Roma housing and displacement response.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Develop and implement the Europe Program Strategy.
Lead portfolio reviews and monitor program impact.
Strengthen technical quality, innovation and systems change.
Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary regional program team.
Work with national organizations, foundations and leadership boards.
Develop multi-country funding proposals and consortium opportunities.
Engage with EU institutions, governments and development banks.
Represent Habitat for Humanity in housing and development networks.
Translate program evidence into policy recommendations.
Support regional leadership across Europe and the Middle East.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

A master’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Social Sciences or a related field.
At least 10 years of progressive program management and leadership experience.
At least 5 years of experience working on programs within Europe.
Strong knowledge of regional housing challenges.
Familiarity with EU funding programs such as LIFE and Horizon Europe.
Knowledge of European development finance institutions.
Experience managing multicultural teams.
Fluency in English.
French, German or Spanish proficiency is highly desirable.
Understanding of Europe’s political, economic and social environment.
Ability to travel extensively.
