About the Role

Reporting to the Integrated Content Director, the Social Media Manager will develop and implement digital communications strategies across Mellon’s owned social media channels.

The role includes editorial planning, content creation, community engagement, platform partnerships, digital campaigns and monitoring social media trends.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Develop and publish social media copy, photos and creative content.
Work with creative teams and contributors on digital assets.
Ensure content is accurate, accessible and aligned with editorial plans.
Develop strategies to grow Mellon’s online audiences.
Build meaningful relationships with online communities and influencer partners.
Collaborate on paid social media campaigns.
Maintain relationships with social media platform representatives.
Track social media, website and campaign performance.
Monitor sentiment and social listening data.
Report on trends and engagement results.

The role’s responsibilities are broadly divided into 60% content development and publishing, 30% growth and engagement, and 10% measurement and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in social media management, digital engagement, marketing and web writing.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
Strategic and creative audience-development skills.
Strong writing and editing abilities.
Knowledge of web graphics and design.
Ability to produce reporting and analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Preferred experience includes project management platforms, photography or Photoshop, video and basic graphics editing, SEO and metadata, Mac proficiency and multilingual skills.
