Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the Save the Children Project Coordinator Jobs 2026 opportunity should have a bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Disaster Management, Environmental Management, Climate Change, Geography, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Natural Resource Management or another relevant discipline.

A postgraduate qualification in Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change, Humanitarian Action or Project Management is an advantage.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of progressive experience coordinating and implementing disaster risk reduction, resilience, humanitarian or development programmes. Experience working with government institutions, local authorities, implementing partners and communities is also required.

Experience with programme budgets, donor-funded projects, safeguarding, accountability to affected populations, gender equality, disability inclusion and child rights is also important.

Key Skills

Strong coordination, communication, facilitation and relationship-management skills are essential. Applicants should also be able to manage multiple priorities, work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge of emergency preparedness, humanitarian response, climate adaptation, anticipatory action or Comprehensive School Safety can strengthen an application. Project management certification such as PMP is also considered an advantage.
