Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Assistant will support procurement activities by:

  • Managing procurement processes for purchases below USD 150,000
  • Supporting procurement activities above USD 150,000
  • Conducting market research and Requests for Information
  • Preparing purchase orders, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Managing bid publication and evaluation processes
  • Negotiating with suppliers and preparing procurement documentation
  • Monitoring contract implementation and supplier performance
  • Coordinating shipment, customs clearance and delivery processes
  • Supporting inventory and asset recording
  • Maintaining procurement records and reports
  • Ensuring compliance with UNESCO procurement regulations

Eligibility Requirements

Education

Applicants must have completed:

  • Secondary education, technical school or vocational school.

Professional Experience

Candidates must possess:

  • At least five years of professional experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Experience managing procurement processes for contracts up to USD 150,000.

Required Skills

Successful applicants should demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement procedures and regulations
  • Contract management experience
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
