Tasks

Key responsibilities include:

Inspect construction materials and completed works.
Monitor contractors and construction schedules.
Review engineering drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
Assist with site inspections and measurement of completed work.
Support verification of contractor payment applications.
Monitor quality, safety and environmental requirements.
Coordinate with authorities, contractors, project teams and communities.
Prepare site inspection notes and technical progress reports.
Document construction progress using photographic and geo-referenced evidence.
Support completion, handover, donor reporting and audit documentation.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Diploma in one of the following:

Civil Engineering
Water Engineering
Irrigation Engineering
Agricultural Engineering (Water and Soil Option)
Construction Engineering

Registration with KETRB or another relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Experience

Candidates need at least two years of demonstrable experience in construction supervision and inspection involving water infrastructure, pumping systems, pipelines or similar civil engineering projects.

Experience in quality control, work measurement, contractor payment applications and donor-funded, NGO, government or community-based infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Knowledge of OHS standards, environmental and social safeguards, engineering drawings, BoQs, technical specifications and construction schedules is also required.
