Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership
- Lead and refine CESR’s overall communications strategy
- Define success metrics and regularly assess communications impact
- Strengthen organizational understanding of audiences, messages, and narrative goals
- Develop a coherent storytelling vision aligned with CESR’s strategic priorities
Content and Storytelling
- Produce and oversee a wide range of communications outputs, including:
- Reports and briefs
- Blog articles and opinion pieces
- Press releases
- Audiovisual and digital materials
- Ensure content is accessible, accurate, and aligned with CESR’s visual identity
- Manage layout and design using tools such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop
Digital and Media Engagement
- Manage and improve CESR’s website content, usability, and accessibility
- Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, and others
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets
- Support proactive media outreach to amplify CESR’s advocacy messages
Collaboration and Organizational Support
- Work closely with program teams to integrate communications into project planning
- Manage relationships with external providers (designers, web developers, translators)
- Contribute to fundraising and resource mobilization efforts through donor-facing materials and appeals
Eligibility and Qualifications
Education
- Degree in journalism, communications, media, or a related field
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic communications within:
- Human rights
- Social justice
- Advocacy or civil society organizations
- Proven ability to communicate complex economic and policy issues clearly
- Strong digital communications and storytelling experience
