Key Responsibilities

1. Evidence Generation & Impact Analysis

  • Support food security surveys, baselines, endlines, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).
  • Apply advanced statistical and econometric methods, including RCTs and quasi-experimental designs.

2. Vulnerability Targeting & Economic Analysis

  • Assist in developing vulnerability-based targeting tools.
  • Conduct market and household economic analysis for IDPs, refugees, and host communities.

3. Early Warning & Anticipatory Action

  • Support early action thresholds and shock-trigger mechanisms.
  • Model risk exposure and forecast outcomes under crisis scenarios.

4. Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Produce dashboards, donor reports, and analytical briefs.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

5. Capacity Building & Coordination

  • Deliver technical coaching on M&E tools and statistical software.
  • Coordinate with Programme, CBT, Logistics, and partner organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Required: Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, International Development, or related fields.
  • Alternative: Bachelor’s degree + minimum 4 years relevant experience (exceptional cases).
  • Academic training must have taken place in an eligible developing country (per JPO scheme list).

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (4 years for Bachelor’s holders).
  • Experience in M&E, economic modelling, quantitative research, or targeting.
  • UN system experience must not exceed one year.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and French (mandatory)
  • Arabic or other UN languages are an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Statistical software: R, Stata, SPSS
  • Survey tools: Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO
  • Familiarity with PMT, econometrics, and large datasets.
