About the Roles

Role Overview:
Under the guidance of a Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Associate supports the planning, execution, and monitoring of procurement processes within UN Women’s Business Units. The role ensures compliance with UN Women procurement policies, promotes transparency and fairness, and contributes to sustainable procurement practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering procurement activities aligned with UN Women’s strategic objectives and sustainable practices.
- Supporting preparation and implementation of procurement plans for projects and operations.
- Conducting research to assist in procurement strategy development, tender evaluation, and contract management.
- Facilitating cross-functional collaboration between UN Women operations, project teams, and external suppliers.
- Implementing e-procurement tools and strategies to ensure best value for money.
- Organizing procurement knowledge-building initiatives for staff and suppliers.
- Contributing to business process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Eligibility & Requirements for UN Women Junior Associate Roles 2026
Education & Certification:
- Secondary education required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields is desirable.
- CIPS Level 3 or other procurement certification is an asset.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement.
- Experience in international organizations, UN agencies, or using modern ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer software packages, including MS Office.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French, Spanish, or another UN official language is an advantage.
