Fellowship Programmes

1. Al Jazeera Fellowship Programme

Aimed at journalists and scholars, this 3-month research fellowship enables participants to produce a 7,000-word research paper on a key issue in journalism or media studies.

Participants will:

  • Join Al Jazeera’s editorial and research teams.
  • Meet with senior editors, producers, and media experts.
  • Develop an original research paper with practical value for the media industry.

Who can apply:

  • Full-time journalists and media researchers with backgrounds in journalism, communications, or social sciences.

Duration:
3 months, divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1 (Remote): Fellows develop and submit their research plan and introduction.
  • Phase 2 (On-site in Doha, Qatar): Fellows conduct in-depth research at Al Jazeera’s headquarters and submit the final paper.

2. Visiting Journalist Fellowship

This program offers mid-career journalists an immersive newsroom experience at Al Jazeera’s headquarters.
