ECOWAS Bank Young Professionals Programme 2026: Graduate Opportunities in West Africa
The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) is inviting applications for its 2026 Young Professionals Programme, offering qualified young West African graduates an opportunity to begin a professional career with an international financial institution.
The programme targets talented graduates from universities and other higher education institutions across West Africa, as well as eligible members of the West African diaspora.
Successful candidates will join EBID as Young Professional Trainees and gain experience across different departments of the Bank.

About the EBID Young Professionals Programme 2026
The Young Professionals Programme is designed to recruit and develop highly qualified young professionals who can contribute to the Bank’s activities.
Selected candidates will initially be recruited as Young Professional Trainees under a two-year fixed-term contract.
The programme includes a six-month probationary period. According to the recruitment information, where a young professional’s performance during probation is considered satisfactory, the appointment will be converted to an indefinite-term contract, giving the individual permanent staff status at the Bank.
Participants will rotate through different departments during the programme. This rotational system is intended to give young professionals broader exposure to EBID’s operations while allowing them to work under experienced supervisors.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be nationals of West African countries and meet the programme’s eligibility requirements.
Candidates must be under 30 years old at the time of recruitment and hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a field relevant to the Bank’s activities.

Skills Required
Applicants should be capable of working effectively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate strong analytical and organisational abilities.
Candidates should also have excellent research skills and the ability to plan activities, manage priorities and work effectively within a professional environment.
Good knowledge of common office applications is required, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Language ability is particularly important.
Applicants must be fluent in English, French or Portuguese and have a working knowledge of at least one of the other two languages.
Salary and Benefits
Young professionals will serve as professional staff members of the Bank during the programme and will be subject to the conditions of service applicable to Grade P1-1 under EBID’s employee classification and salary structure.
Participants will also be eligible for applicable benefits and allowances, including cost-of-living adjustment, housing and transport allowances, as well as family benefits where applicable.
Young professionals will participate in the Bank’s pension scheme and receive insurance coverage for specified risks, including death, total and permanent disability, workplace accidents, partial permanent disability, personal accidents and illness.
