Save the Children International (SCI) is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager in Cairo, Egypt. The full-time position sits within the Programme Development and Quality team and is offered on a fixed-term contract through December 2027.
The role provides leadership for the country office’s MEAL systems, evidence generation, learning, accountability and programme quality.
The MEAL Manager will oversee the design and implementation of an integrated MEAL system aligned with Save the Children standards.
The position also involves managing and developing MEAL staff, supporting strategic planning and reporting, strengthening evidence-based programming and contributing to programme development.
The role directly supervises 5 MEAL Officers, 1 Learning and Evidence Specialist and 1 Accountability Officer, including staff working from field offices.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and oversee the country-wide MEAL system.
- Ensure quality monitoring, data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Strengthen accountability mechanisms for children and communities.
- Lead learning activities, evaluations, assessments and research.
- Support emergency preparedness and MEAL response.
- Build the capacity of MEAL, programme and partner staff.
- Manage and mentor MEAL team members.
- Support country strategic planning and evidence generation.
- Ensure accurate programme data is captured through the PRIME system.
- Contribute to donor reporting and proposal development.
- Support the development of strong indicators, logical frameworks and MEAL budgets.
- Build partnerships with research institutions and MEAL organizations.
- Provide evidence to support advocacy and programme decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a BA degree in social science, economics, statistics or a relevant field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
