About the Role

The Senior Manager, Program Strategy and Innovation serves as a strategic advisor and operational leader supporting CARE’s Chief Impact & Innovation Officer (CIIO) and the Program Strategy & Innovation (PSI) leadership team.

The position functions similarly to a Chief of Staff, coordinating executive priorities, driving strategic initiatives, supporting governance processes, and ensuring that leadership teams remain aligned on organizational goals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing complex projects, collaborating with senior leaders, and driving organizational performance across global programmes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Chief Impact & Innovation Officer with executive planning and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, agendas, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations, speeches, and decision papers.
  • Lead CARE’s Programme Strategy & Innovation governance processes.
  • Manage cross-functional strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track organizational performance.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide programme reporting and performance metrics.
  • Identify operational challenges and facilitate timely solutions.
  • Prepare materials for Board meetings and executive leadership.
  • Support external engagements, presentations, and partnership meetings.
  • Strengthen internal communications and collaboration across teams.
  • Lead staff engagement activities, learning sessions, retreats, and onboarding initiatives.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and organizational learning across global technical teams.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in strategy, programme management, organizational leadership, consulting, or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building trusted relationships with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits
