Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead will:

Provide technical leadership on vaccine and immunization policy.
Develop evidence-based WHO policy recommendations.
Support regional and national immunization policy bodies.
Manage a team of technical staff, workplans and financial resources.
Lead research on vaccine and immunization policy practices.
Monitor programme performance and reporting requirements.
Maintain partnerships with WHO offices, UN agencies, donors and technical organisations.
Represent WHO at international meetings and working groups.
Serve as Executive Secretary to the SAGE advisory committee.
Strengthen SAGE processes and related working groups.
Oversee WHO vaccine position papers and policy guidance.
Support work on emerging immunization policy issues.
Oversee resource mobilisation and donor reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Applicants must have an advanced doctoral-level university degree, such as an MD or PhD, in:

Public health
Medicine
Vaccinology
Immunology
Relevant biological sciences

Advanced training in epidemiology, vaccinology or immunology is desirable.

Experience

The vacancy requires:

At least 10 years of professional experience in vaccine evaluation.
Extensive experience in health policy and strategy development.
Experience developing vaccine and immunization policy at international level.
