About the Role

The position is based within Science for Health at WHO Headquarters. The successful candidate will support the Global Focal Point for WHO Collaborating Centres and contribute to strengthening partnerships, governance, monitoring and collaboration across the network.

The role also supports WHO’s efforts to strengthen research governance and institutional research capacity.

Key Responsibilities

The Technical Officer will contribute to:

Coordinating and monitoring initiatives involving WHO Collaborating Centres.
Strengthening global and regional networks and partnerships.
Developing partnership models, including regional and thematic networks.
Coordinating meetings, consultations and forums.
Preparing technical reports, briefing notes, presentations and workplans.
Supporting the designation, redesignation and monitoring of WHO Collaborating Centres.
Improving governance processes, digital platforms and monitoring systems.
Analysing contributions to WHO’s GPW14 objectives.
Supporting implementation and reporting of relevant strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as:

Public health
Political science
Social sciences
International relations
Communications
Public administration
Organizational management
Management studies
Business administration

An advanced university degree in a relevant field is desirable.

Applicants also need at least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas such as programme management, governance, partnership coordination, institutional networking, stakeholder engagement or international health initiatives.

Experience in an international or multilateral environment is required.

Experience coordinating global or regional events, consultations or networks, as well as knowledge of WHO policies and governance processes, is desirable.

Language Requirements

English: Expert level required.

French: Intermediate knowledge is desirable.

WHO Salary and Benefits
