About the Opportunity

The role sits within the Gates Foundation’s K-12 Teaching and Learning team, which works to expand access to high-quality instructional materials and improve learning outcomes.

The Senior Program Officer will lead initiatives focused on modernizing high school mathematics, including Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II, as well as advanced areas such as data science, statistics and quantitative reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Lead the implementation of the modernized high school math initiative.
Manage complex investments and partnerships.

Develop engagement strategies with major K-12 publishers.
Build relationships with state education leaders, researchers and policymakers.
Develop coalitions involving philanthropic, public and private partners.
Track milestones, outcomes and risks across multiple workstreams.

Communicate strategy and progress to foundation leadership and external partners.
Collaborate with other Gates Foundation teams working on K-12 education, data, AI and system improvement.

Qualifications and Experience
