Role Overview
The DRR Web Platform Content Development Expert will be responsible for developing, editing, and structuring high-quality content for the national web-based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) platform. The goal is to create an engaging, user-centered platform that promotes awareness, coordination, and capacity-building in disaster management and resilience planning.
Key Responsibilities for UNDP Disaster Risk Reduction
- Content Strategy & Framework Development
- Design and implement a content strategy aligned with UNDP’s DRR communication objectives.
- Define tone, structure, and information hierarchy for the DRR platform.
- Content Creation and Editing
- Draft and edit web content (texts, case studies, infographics, resource summaries) for various target audiences.
- Translate technical DRR data into accessible and impactful language for practitioners and the public.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Work with UNDP communication officers, DRR experts, and government stakeholders to gather information.

Eligibility and Qualifications
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Communication, Journalism, Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communication, content creation, or knowledge management related to disaster risk reduction, climate change, or sustainable development.
- Proven experience in developing content for web-based platforms or digital communication systems.
- Familiarity with UNDP communication standards, UN style guides, and SDG frameworks is a strong asset.
- Experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Western Balkans context is an advantage.
Skills
- Excellent English writing and editing skills (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language proficiency desirable).
