About the Role
CARE USA is looking for an experienced Executive Director of AI Transformation to lead its enterprise-wide artificial intelligence agenda. The successful candidate will develop and implement a long-term AI strategy that strengthens operational resilience, improves programme delivery, enhances decision-making, and supports financial sustainability across CARE’s global operations.
This executive position will work closely with senior leadership, country offices, technology teams, and external partners to ensure AI becomes an integrated part of CARE’s operating model rather than a standalone innovation initiative.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director will:
- Develop and lead CARE’s enterprise AI strategy and multi-year transformation roadmap.
- Build and manage a portfolio of high-impact AI initiatives across programmes, finance, operations, supply chain, and shared services.
- Establish governance frameworks, investment priorities, and AI implementation standards.
- Integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise systems and operational processes.
- Support country offices in adopting practical AI solutions suited to local contexts.
- Lead AI adoption through organizational change management and workforce development.
- Build AI capability through staff training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Establish responsible AI governance aligned with CARE’s ethical principles.
- Work closely with legal, cybersecurity, and risk management teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Measure AI performance and demonstrate value through dashboards and business metrics.
- Represent CARE with donors, technology companies, and innovation partners to strengthen funding opportunities and strategic collaborations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of senior leadership experience in digital transformation, AI, enterprise technology, innovation, or change management.
- Proven experience leading large-scale organizational transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and enterprise data platforms.
- Excellent strategic planning and execution skills.
- Strong financial and operational management experience.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and executive leadership skills.
- Ability to translate emerging technologies into measurable organizational impact.
Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree or MBA.
