Core Responsibilities
The intern will work across Oxfam’s communications and engagement teams, supporting tasks in media relations, digital strategy, public engagement, and content management.
Media Monitoring & Engagement
- Track and compile news mentions of Oxfam
- Maintain and update the U.S. journalist database
- Support admin tasks for the media team
- Respond to incoming journalist requests
Community Engagement & Events
- Assist with Hunger Banquets and other brand-building activities
- Provide logistical and communications support for community events
Social Media & Digital Content
- Monitor trends, influencers, hashtags, and conversations
- Assist with social media content and community management
- Review and proof digital and web content
Content & Asset Management
- Upload and tag multimedia assets (photos, videos, text) in Inuru
- Ensure all materials meet ethical, consent, and metadata standards
- Train Oxfam staff on using the Inuru database
- Serve as a focal point for questions about digital assets
Administrative & Division Support
- Assist with task coordination using Asana
- Support general communications, project tracking, and workflow management
