Oxfam in Asia and Asia Centre have opened applications for the 2nd Cohort of the Oxfam Young Leaders Fellowship Programme, a transformative 15-month trainee pathway for passionate young people committed to social justice, equality, human rights and climate justice.

This programme empowers emerging leaders with the tools, mentorship, knowledge and networks needed to drive real change—especially in a region facing democratic decline, rising inequality, restrictions on civic space and mounting climate challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be 27 years old or younger
  • Be a citizen of: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste or Vietnam
  • Be a graduate (any discipline)
  • Not currently employed full-time, and committed to not taking full-time work during the fellowship
  • Show creativity, motivation and a commitment to social change
  • Be skilled in using digital tools for advocacy
  • Have professional English proficiency
  • Be willing to work 30–40 hours per week for the full fellowship duration

Fellowship Responsibilities

Programme commitments (9–15 months)

  • Dedicate 30–40 hours weekly to agreed activities
  • Attend in-person induction workshop in Bangkok
  • Maintain and grow a youth network of 50+ active members
  • Join monthly online meetings and provide progress reports
  • Lead and support activities, including end-of-project convening
  • Produce digital content for the Civic-Asia platform
  • Participate fully in leadership, learning and advocacy sessions
