Tasks

The Education Sector Assistant will perform duties across resource mobilization, programme implementation, administration, communication and coordination.

Resource Mobilization and Partnership Support

The consultant will:

  • Identify funding opportunities and prospective partners aligned with UNESCO’s education priorities in Tanzania.
  • Research development partners, donors, foundations, private-sector organizations and other potential funders.
  • Maintain information on funding opportunities, priorities, funding windows, requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist with concept notes, project proposals, expressions of interest and other resource mobilization documents.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing notes, talking points and related materials for partner engagement.
  • Support meetings and consultations with current and prospective partners.
  • Follow up on agreed actions and contribute to other resource mobilization activities.

Programme and Administrative Support

The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of Education Sector programmes and projects, including Regular Programme and Voluntary Contribution activities.

Responsibilities include preparing programme documentation, correspondence and presentations; organizing meetings, workshops, conferences and seminars; preparing agendas and minutes; and making logistical arrangements.

The consultant may also support official missions by assisting with travel bookings, security clearance, travel documentation and administrative follow-up.

Communication and Coordination

Qualifications

Education

Experience

Candidates must have at least two years of relevant professional experience in areas such as:

Experience supporting education programmes or projects in Tanzania is also desirable.
